To share all we are learning about turtles, we are using the green screen to present our facts in mini-movies! Look at what we've done so far: (the videos are unlisted on YouTube, which means they will not appear in any of YouTube's public spaces (such as search results, my channel, or the Browse page).

Today we had 7 friends in our class walk, ride their bike or ride their scooters to school. Last week 5 friends walked or rode to school. We figured out that 2 more friends walked or wheeled to school today.
We are watching Youtube videos to learn about turtles. Stay tuned for our very own movie about sea turtles!!! We have been really interested in turtles lately. We will be making a green screen video in the coming weeks that will highlight the cool facts we are learning about sea turtles. We watched a youtube video today about turtles being born... check it out below: We have been exploring a new app this week called "Kodable":
http://game.kodable.com/ The kids are practicing their "computer programming" skills as they try to get their fuzz ball through the maze. Your child can access their account at home (on the website above or on the ipad app). Your child's unique code will be sent home today in their mailbag. Watch out - you may want to play too! :) Wow - did we have fun with the iPads today! We explored a new app called "Chatterpix". It is a free app from Duck Duck Moose. The kids get to take a picture, draw a mouth, and then record a funny 30 second clip. There were A LOT of giggles coming from the tech table! :) Check out the app description below:
http://www.duckduckmoose.com/educational-iphone-itouch-apps-for-kids/chatterpix/ After reading a silly poem about things that were impossible or possible, we decided to write our own poems:
Impossible Could you find a moose in a tree? Could you see a wig on a bee? Could you see a sun in the sea? Could that be? Possible Could you see a tadpole on a frog? Could you see a bee on a log? Could you see a collar on a dog? Could that be? We would like to extend a GIANT thank you to all of the donations we have received so far for our "Fun in the Sun" raffle basket. We are still accepting items like bubbles, balls, skipping ropes, sidewalk chalk, etc.
We are also still accepting donations for the Ottawa Humane Society visit taking place next Friday, April 17th.
