We are beginning our first inquiry! The students have decided to officially transform our dramatic play area into a hospital/doctor's office! We brainstormed what we would need to make this happen. By this afternoon we had borrowed all of the toy medical kits from all of the kinder classes, made some hospital signs and started diagnosing sick and injured friends and dolls.

Wow, parents! You are doing a GREAT job adding your ideas to our "padlet". Keep the ideas coming regarding what YOU and your child think we should include in our class schedule. We will begin working on it as a class very soon - we'd love your input! Click on the link below:
CLASS SCHEDULE BRAINSTORM We learned how to use the Smart Board today! We lined up and took turns exploring the drawing program! It was so much fun!
We are trying to figure out how we can make our own drums. If you have any empty containers (ex. coffee tins, margarine containers, yogurt containers, etc.), feel free to send them in so we can start making some beautiful instruments (and music!). Thanks in advance! :)
This morning, some grade four friends came to interview us about the things we can do. It was really fun to sit with our very own "big kid" and answer their questions. They even measured how tall we were! Everyone did a great job working together.
P.S. Don't forget to check out the link from the last post to help us figure out what we need to include on our daily schedule. :) We will be creating a visual schedule to help us know what to expect throughout our day at school. Please talk to your child about what you think would be helpful to include on our daily schedule (ex. circle time, play time, gym, lunch, etc.). Help us brainstorm ideas by adding your thoughts on our "padlet" link below.
http://padlet.com/joanne_walsh1/2vlcgpxykzzh Students did a GREAT job introducing themselves in French today at afternoon circle. We played a game where we introduced ourselves by saying, "Bonjour! Je m'appelle _______". Everyone participated really well!
We also cooperated in gym to make a giant tent with our parachute! We are having so much fun in kindergarten! We have been working hard at sorting over the past few days. We sorted ourselves into groups (ex. boys vs. girls, walkers/bussers/Crestway friends, etc.). Many friends in the class can sort objects in our class by colour. Other friends are beginning to sort in other ways (ex. size, shape, texture). Feel free to practise sorting with your child at home (ex. using buttons, lego blocks, clothes, toys). See if you can find a cool new way to sort!
