We got a greenhouse today... assembly required (and no instructions!)! Many of the children worked together to sort the pieces and put our heads together to figure out how everything fit together. Great job working as a team to get the job done!

We had a lot of fun today learning about the idea of "beat". Every student had the chance to play an instrument to keep the beat to our song. Check out the video of our grand finale: Check out day 1 of our forest inquiry. We talked about animals that may live in the forest and whether they are diurnal (active in the day) or nocturnal (active at night). We turned our kitchen table into a cave where animals can hang out...
Bring on our first major inquiry! Today the children decided that our dramatic play area should be transformed into a "night-time forest". If you have any extra tree branches, old animal costumes (no hats please!), or any other "forest-y" stuff, please feel free to donate it to the class. Pictures will be posted as we get going!
The children have been busy bringing in seeds, making predictions, planting and making observations with Mrs. Scott. We are trying to grow popcorn, avocados, an oak tree, pineapple, peaches, plums and many more... Wish us luck with our green thumbs!
Our water beads grew! They are bigger, slimy and very bouncy! We are going to have a lot of fun playing with these colourful balls in our sensory bin.
Parents - many students were asking where we got these beads. They were purchased from Toys R Us and are sold under the brand name "Orbeez". Today we wondered what these little "things"were: Today we decided we didn't have enough play dough... So we made some! The children helped read the recipe, measure the ingredients, stir it up, and then finally got to play with their creation!
It's an exciting day today! All of our JK friends are now with us! We are all looking forward to meeting new friends and sharing lots of laughs!
